Not much there. No good hotels or restaurants. A desolate place. I was there for two weeks.

Choibalsan is unlike anything I had ever seen in my life. It is probably the flattest place on earth. After getting off the airplane out at the airport you can take a panoramic view around and see nothing. There are no trees (exept along the main road) and no hills. Choibalsan is famous for its winds and powerful sand storms. The Mongolians who live out there are wonderful people to be around. The nicest building in the city is the church building of the Choibalsan branch of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (mormon). There isn't much to see in choibalsan unless you've lived there and have friends to do thing with. However, if you want a breath view of where the blue sky meets the dry ground then take a trip to Choibalsan where the sun will rise at your heals and set at them also.
